WEDDING CAKE DECORATING
CONTEST
BAKERY FAIR 2005
This contest invites all interested licensed/registered
business establishments to join and decorate
a wedding cake and get the chance to be featured
during the BAKERY FAIR 2005 and be among the
top 3 winners for each category (FONDANT &
BOILED ICING).
Contest Guidelines:
1. The contest is open to all licensed/registered
business establishments.
Contestants must submit proof of licensure as
business establishment (including hotels, schools,
restaurants, etc.). A photocopy of DTI permit
and Mayor’s (Business) Permit should be
attached during submission of registration forms.
Each contestant is allowed to submit a ready-
for-display decorated WEDDING CAKE. A contestant
can submit one entry only. Only 10 entries per
category will be accepted and the “first
come first serve” policy will be applied.
The Cake Committee reserves the right to pre-screen
all the entries aside from applying the “first
come, first serve” rule. Qualified contestants
will be notified in writing by FCBAI which should
serve as permit to join (please bring letter
notice during ingress).
2. Each entry must conform to 1 square meter
dimension with a minimum height limit of 3 feet,
maximum of 5 feet for FONDANT CATEGORY; and
minimum height limit of 4 feet, maximum of 6
feet for BOILED ICING CATEGORY.
3. All entries must be accompanied by its necessary
trimmings or accessories since FCBAI will only
provide a 1-square-meter table covered with
white cloth. Entries that may require electricity
or water should be coordinated with the CAKE
COMMITTEE upon registration.
4. To join, simply register by accomplishing
the CAKE CONTEST REGISTRATION FORM available
in FCBAI (please contact MS. THESS OMBAO @ 254-2526,
254-2518) and submit form on or before December
15, 2004. A joining bond (deposit) of Php 1,500.00
per contestant will be required upon submission
of registration form. Said bond(deposit) will
be returned after the BAKERY FAIR 2005 by the
CAKE COMMITTEE (please claim check bond @ Registration
Counter, starting at 5pm, February 20, 2005)
5. All entries will be numbered and will be
done only on the day the cakes will be judged.
Putting labels or signs on their will be strictly
prohibited. Violators will be disqualified.
6. Participants can join in 2 categories:
FONDANT
BOILED ICING
Each category will have 3 winners to be ranked
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place. Prizes will be as follows:

Winners will be announced on the 1st day right
after the results have been finalized. On the
2nd night of the Bakery fair (February 19, 2005,
Fellowship Night), winners will be honored and
awarded, formally.

The decision of the Board is final.
8. Entries will be judged accordingly:
| 1st Phase |
Each judge will score each
entry with a judging form. |
| 2nd Phase |
Each judge will rank (1st-10nth) the entries
based on each entry’s final score. |
| 3rd Phase |
All rank scores will be tabulated and
the top 3 entries with the lowest rank scores
will be the top 3 winners to be ranked 1st
to 3rd. |
The foregoing method will be used in both
categories.
The Cake Committee should handle and supervise
the judging and tabulation. Final results must
be concurred by the Board of Judges with their
signatures on the tally sheet.
9. All participants will be required to attend
the briefing with the CAKE COMMITTEE. Meeting
place will be at the FCBAI Headquarters (1967
Rizal Avenue, Sta. Cruz, Manila), February 3,
2005, 1 pm sharp. Failure to do so will likely
cause confusion and inconvenience to the absent
contestant.
10. All participants (especially the winners)
are advised to refresh & re-touch their
entries every day during the BAKERY FAIR 2005.
Likewise, all contestants are advised to consider
ingress schedule (please coordinate with FCBAI),
the exhibition hall’s humidity, temperature
and power supply limitations.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

of this contest as contained in the Contest
Guidelines. I also hereby acknowledge that
should I fail to present my wedding cake entry
on February 17, 2005, 3pm (ingress), the joining
bond of Php 1,500.00 (One Thousand Five Hundred
Pesos) will be forfeited in favor of Filipino-Chinese
Bakery Association, Inc.
