FERNA CHOCO-NUT BARS

Ingredients Quantity
Egg 3 pcs.
Refined sugar 1 cup
Vegetable oil 1/4 cup
FERNA VANILLA POWDER 2 tsps.
All purpose flour 2 cups
FERNA BAKING POWDER 1 1/2 tsps.
FERNA BAKING SODA 2 pcs.
FERNA VANILLA POWDER 1/2 tsp.
FERNA IODIZED SALT 1 tsp.
Almonds, ground (about 1/2 cup silvered almonds before grinding 2 cups
FERNA CHOCO BROWN POWDER COLOR
1/2 tsp.
Milk chocolate compound 500 grams

PROCEDURE

1. Preheat the oven to 350?F.
2. Grease a large baking sheet.
3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs well. Gradually beat in the sugar until the mixture is thick and pale yellow. Beat in the oil, then the FERNA VANILLA LIQUID.
4. In another bowl, stir together the flour, FERNA BAKING POWDER, FERNA BAKING SODA, FERNA IODIZED SALT and almonds. Add to the egg mixture, stirring until the dry ingredients are incorporated.
5. On the prepared baking sheet, form the dough into two logs, each about 8” x 2 1/2”. Bake the logs for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned and not sticky to the touch.
6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, and reduce the oven temperature to 325?F. Cut each log diagonally into about 8 slices. Lay the slices on their side, and bake the choco-nut bars for 10 minutes. Turn the slices over, and bake 5 minutes longer. Transfer the choco-nut bars to a rack to cool.
7. Dip choco-nut bars into melted milk chocolate. Arrange on wire racks and allow chocolate to set.

Yield: Approx 24 bars
